Installation Instructions

The order of installation is:

Step 1: First plate is the OD splined steel reaction plate (sits on top of the Fingered apply ring).

Step 2: Next is an ID splined Single Sided friction plate, wafer side down facing the apply piston.

Step 3: Follow with an OD splined Single Sided friction plate, wafer side down facing the apply piston.

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until all Single Sided OD and ID splined plates are installed.

(6L80 takes 1 less OD & ID Splined Single-Sided plates)

Last step: install OD splined Double Sided friction with 2-Pass Groove facing down towards the apply piston.

The side with the crenels (tooth patterned friction wafer) is facing up towards the backing plate.

Install the backing plate and snap ring
